Memorandum

TO: All Families

From: Executive Director

CC: Area Supervisors & Manager of Operation

Date: June 25, 2020

Dear Parents,

Our Board of Directors met on Tuesday June 23, 2020 to discuss the viability of re-opening the child care centres and our summer camp programs. Based on the response from the survey, not many families required care if we were to reopen and expressed that they would prefer to return in September when school has resumed. The safety of our staff and children was another deciding factor that lead to our decision to remain CLOSED during the summer months of July and August.

We will use this time to plan for the re-opening of our child care centres in September, which includes sanitizing toys and equipment, ensuring the environment and screening procedure are in place as per Public Health guidelines in addition to training our staff on our enhanced policies and procedures. We want to ensure that KCCE is prepared for re-opening come September 2020. We understand that our decision to close may leave some families in a very difficult situation. Parent needing care can contact the Region of York for a list of operators in their area that is accepting families. You can access this information at www.york.ca under “Community Supports”.

As we chart our way to re-opening, information will be emailed out and updates posted on our website at www.kidsconnectionce.com. We thank you for your understanding during this time and we look forward to seeing all our children back in September. Be safe everyone!

Yours truly,

KCCE Management Team
